City archive
Krems city archives, the first official mention of which dates back to the 13th century, keeps track of the city’s administrative records and thus charts the history of the city over time. Given the unique characteristic of the two adjacent cites of Krems and Stein - two cities that belong together - the archives store a written trace of both city’s administrative past.
